Unreal Engine 5
This was one of my first big team projects, being the final for Applied Principles of Game Design, where I was the lead programmer and also had a huge part in the overall game design, sound effects, rigging, and animation.
The game itself was an arcade style time-attack game, focusing on score optimization and replayability, inspired by the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. The player needs to find 5 things around a superstore in two minutes while maxing out their score before their mom shows up and grounds them, all while beating up/throwing security guards and passersby.
As mentioned I was the lead programmer, so I was tasked with creating the majority of the basic systems/mechanics in the game, such as the player's abilities and controls (rail grinding, sprinting, throwing, attack combos, etc.), environmental objects like score pickups and destructible shelves, and more. It was also one of the first times I had worked on a project with a version control software, being GitHub, and I was put in charge of overseeing the GitHub.
This was a very enlightening experience, overall. It was the first time I'd worked in something resembling an actual team, with defined roles and a version control software, and it taught me a lot about how to work in these environments.
